Doggone it!!!
We can all agree we love our pet’s like family. However, the mess they can sometimes leave behind can be more than just that dribble on the carpet 😊
Dog’s are said to be man’s best friend (some would argue cat’s should have that title but we’re not going there 😊) but as much as Fido is your friend, he can be your HVAC systems worst enemy.
Changing The HVAC Filter
If you have cats or dogs in your home, then you’ll have to change the air filter much more frequently than someone who does not. If you notice hair on your carpet, clothes, etc… then it’s almost certainly in your HVAC filter. This problem can be magnified during warmer temperatures. While a home with no pets can go around 3 months between filter changes if you own a pet you will want to consider changing the filter monthly to keep air quality up to par.
Clean Ducts
Air ducts transports the air throughout your home. If the air ducts in your home are filled with fur and pet dander it can have a significant impact on your air quality. This debris is continually being circulated in your home through the air even if you can’t see it.
If possible we recommend cleaning your ducts annually if you have pets to ensure that both you and your furry friends have clean air !
